Much is said about how we should be kind to each other. How we are kind, what that looks like in practice, is very personal but most of us think of being kind to others rather than being kind to ourselves. When we consider kindness, looking at how we are towards ourselves is the starting point, we all need to learn ways of being caring and compassionate towards ourselves.
Spending time with yourself on your mat practising yoga is an act of self kindness, it helps your mind and body find peace and equilibrium. If your yoga works with the breath, is mindful & non judgemental, this is kindness in action. We spend a great deal of time thinking about others, which is of course important, but don’t forget how important it is to be kind to yourself.
